Koningin Sofia bezocht gisteren samen met Asma Al-Assad, de vrouw van de Syrische president, het Al Hambra Paleis in Granada. Asma Al-Assad is in Spanje vanwege de verkiezing van Damascus als hoofdstad van de Arabische Cultuur van 2008.

Hola meldt dat koningin Sofia opnieuw naar Cambodja afgereisd is. In februari vorig jaar reisde zij ook al naar Azië, maar toen ze hoorde van het overlijden van Erika Ortiz, de zus van prinses Letizia, keerde ze terug, nog voordat het bezoek officieel begonnen was.
Ze zal er diverse projecten van AECID bezoeken. Zo gaat ze onder anderen naar een centrum waar vrouwen, die gedwongen in de prostitutie hebben gezeten, geholpen worden hun leven weer op te pikken, door middel van trainingen en cursussen. Ook zal ze tempels bezoeken, een krans leggen bij een monument en staat er tevens een diner met de Cambodjaanse koning Norodom Sihamoni op het programma.

Nee hoor, dit staat hier prima. Wanneer het echt om een gezamenlijke activiteit gaat van meerdere royals dan telt inderdaad in welk land het zich afspeelt, maar dit is overduielijk een bezoek van Sofia aan een land en niet primair een gezamenlijke activiteit van het Spaanse en Cambodjaanse koningshuis...
